Why StepUp?
StepUp designs and programs Group Activities and Exercises for our students with special needs (autism, developmental, intellectual, etc.), and they will get to experience and learn various sports with lots of fun and friends.
They will learn many sports that are suitable for them and meets their needs. For example, how to do skipping rope, how to swim, how to ride a bike and many other sports.
Also, they will breathe the fresh air, explore nature and be part of community through our outings.
The key benefits of exercise to our students:
Brain function (body coordination, balance)
Physical health
Emotional and mental health
Reduced anxiety, depression (school performance, sleep)
Improved relationships
Improved body image
According to the Department of Health:
Children aged 5–12 years should exercise at least 60 minutes every day.
Children’s physical activity should include a variety of aerobic activities.
Children should engage in activities that strengthen muscle and bone three day a week.
